Abrasive belt LS 309 J – the ultimate solution for workpieces with slight contours

The abrasive belt LS 309 J by Klingspor is a particularly good choice for sanding workpieces that possess slight contours. It is available on rolls as well as a short and a long belt version and can be combined with profile sanding machines, edge sanders, hand tool belt grinders and pedestal sanders. Exceptionally flexible and tear-resistant, this premium abrasive belt proves to be ideal for processing

  • wood,
  • wood-based material,
  • NF metal and
  • plastic.

It is available in a wide range of grit sizes and can be used for all work steps of the sanding process.

Effective and elastic - the flexible cotton backing with closely coated aluminium oxide

Its flexible cotton backing allows the abrasive belt LS 309 J to contour snugly to the workpiece at hand. These properties allow every skilled craftsman to achieve sanding results of flawless quality with this belt. Klingspor uses J-cotton for the backing of this product as this material is flexible, yet exceedingly stable and tear-resistant at the same time. The aluminium oxide grain is applied to this backing with a close coating. This ensures that the backing is almost entirely covered by abrasive grain. Aluminium oxide is distinguished by its combination of ruggedness and toughness. Klingspor generally uses grains that have been manufactured synthetically and deliver results of consistently high quality. What is more, the close coating of the abrasive grain ensures a uniform scratch pattern as it spreads the applied force across a large number of grain points. This coating is responsible for the uniform and finely structured surface the product leaves behind on wood and wood-based material as well as metal and plastic.

Stable and long lasting - the top binding is made of fully synthetic resin

Klingspor uses laser measurements as well as random sample weight measurements to monitor the application of the bonding agent. These measures make it possible to ensure that the basic bond has the same required thickness in all places. Klingspor uses synthetic resin for the bonding of all of their abrasives as this material offers a host of advantages compared to glue and other types of bonding agents.
